In light of our recent trip to Iceland, it seems that we’re not the only Scots that have an affinity for Iceland.
It was recently announced by Nicole Sturgeon, that Scotland and Iceland are going to be forming a partnership with our tourism industries.
Not only are our countries fairly similar, in terms of size, scenery, landscape and even our humour, but we also share a number of common goals in the tourism industry.
Both Iceland and Scotland are keen to promote sustainability, while attracting new tourists. It’s not just about getting numbers to the country, it’s about making a difference for the future. We both want to attract more visitors, while preserving our environment and making changes to our infrastructure that will provide a better future for generations to come.
The industry has changed a lot in recent years - and it will continue to change.
It's moves like this which revolutionise the industry. We need brands to be forthcoming with ideas and makes changes little by little. Whether it's making use of new technologies, new strategies or new marketing concepts, we want to be at the forefront of the change.
We’re excited to see whether other countries will follow suit and what this might mean for the travel and tourism industry in the future.
